Why mountain hiking? How about looking out fifty miles over the landscape? If you're like myself, you feel drawn to photographs of mountains. Don't you want to be out there hiking and exploring? If so, this web site is for you.
There is nothing wrong with hiking in the woods of Michigan, or the deserts of Arizona, or anywhere else, but some of us feel the necessity of mountains in our lives. Hiking the tundra high in the mountains of Montana, scrambling up "fourteeners" in Colorado, bathing in waterfalls and watching big-horn sheep on cliffs across a valley from us - this is hiking at it's best: mountain hiking.
If you want stories of hiking adventures, from mountains in Montana and California, to Mount Chimborazo in Ecuador, go to the "Hiking Adventures" button. You'll find it on the navigation bar above, and on every page. Be sure to check back from time to time, as I hope to add more mountain hiking stories soon.
The "Hiking Trails" page, also on the navigation bar, is all about where to go. You'll find pages on National Parks, lonely little-known mountain ranges, and more.
Not sure what to wear, or how to deal with bears, or what the weather will be like? Try the "Hiking Tips" page.
Ready to check out the latest hiking clothes, or get a new backpack? You'll find all the information and links you need on the "Hiking Supplies" page.
You can also find a complete list of pages, with a description of, and a link to each, on the "Mountain Hiking Site Map" page. Also, be sure to check out the links to my sponsors when you are looking for gear or clothing. These are companies I chose because of their quality products, good prices and satisfaction guarantees.
